Seeed Studio 3D Gesture and Tracking Shield for Raspberry Pi is based on Microchip's MGC3130 chip that enables the Raspberry Pi with 3D gesture recognition and motion tracking function. This shield can carry out proximity and touch sensing, capture x y z position information, and support tap and double click. The 3D gesture and tracking shield's recognition areas are divided into two parts including the strip area and the central panel. The strip areas can sense orientation change while the central area can sense tap, touch, gestures in the air above, and double click. This shield uses Microchip’s patented GestIC® technology to utilize electrical near-field sensing to detect movements. The 3D gesture and tracking shield communicates with Raspberry Pi via the I2C interface. Typical applications include notebooks, keyboards, PC peripherals, home automation, game controllers, and audio control.
